Kidney Transplant Programs

 There are two kidney transplant programs located in the state of Oregon, both in Portland. A patient has to be referred for a kidney transplant by their nephrologist, the referral can occur when the GFR is < 20 (20% kidney function). Patients can typically only be on one transplant list in Portland, although you can be be on different lists in different geographical areas.

Note: Both programs perform kidney transplants for patients with End Stage Renal Disease, OHSU also does kidney-pancreas transplants in patients with Type 1 Diabetes.
